Overview
Attend the National Aeronautics and Space Agency (NASA) Space Science Day (NSSD) to learn about space exploration, meet NASA scientists, and perform space-related hands-on activities with them. This is a one-day educational outreach event for pre-college students and teachers.
It is sponsored by the International Ultraviolet Association (IUVA) in collaboration with the NASA Science Mission Directorate (SMD), professional chapters from the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE), MAES and other local professional associations. The goals of this event are to:
1. Expose pre-college students and teachers to space exploration 2. Engage pre-college students and teachers and inspire them to pursue STEM careers 3. Broaden STEM education received by pre-college students at school 4. Provide leadership and mentoring opportunities for professionals and university students in STEM careers 5. Strengthen NASA"s and the nation"s future workforce
